The invites granted were from the BC PNP Tech stream, which is a part of the provincial nominee program of British Columbia.

The candidates invited must qualify under one of the below two streams meeting their prerequisites to apply for a Canadian PR:

  • Express Entry BC pathway
  • BC Skills immigration pathway

Both of these two BC provincial nominee program is solely managed by the Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS). The candidates who were granted the invites under this pathway came from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories with a qualifying PNP score of 80.

Those invited will have a 30-day deadline to submit their application to apply for a provincial nomination.

About the BC PNP Tech program

The BC PNP Tech came into inception in May 2017 as a pilot program to meet the labor market deficit of tech aspirants. Realizing its success in recent years, the Canadian federal government has proclaimed to make this pilot program permanent to further benefit the growing needs of the British Columbia technology sector.

Having served its purpose, the federal government exclaimed to keep this program permanently in its immigration pathways for uplifting the BC economy.

Intended for in-demand tech workers and foreign students, this fast-track immigration program requires a valid job offer with an unconditional clause for at least 12 months duration in one of the 29 eligible occupations listed in the BC tech employment chart.

Unlike the other BC PNP pathways, a job offer under the Tech stream should be at least for one year from an eligible employer in BC for full-time. At the time of submitting the applicants, the job offer must have at least 120 days remaining before its expiry.

Those invited to apply for Canadian PR under the BC tech pilot must submit an application to the provincial authority. Once the application is approved, the candidate will receive a confirmation from BC which can be used to avail for a Canada PR from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the Provincial Nominee Program Class.
