The BC Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) is a point-based system usually used by the BCPNP. It helps in managing the registrations and finding out applicants who fulfill the province’s economic and labor market requirements.
The process generally works as follows:
1. Register with the BC PNP: Firstly, applicants interested in applying through a Skills Immigration stream create a registration with the BCPNP. Then offer the relevant information about their qualifications, language proficiency, work experience, job offer, and other factors.
2. Receive a SIRS Score: Eligible applicants and registrations are assessed and assigned a score based on certain factors including:
3. Enter the Registration Pool: Once registration is complete, applicants enter into the pool. They are ranked as per their SIRS scores and other applicable selection criteria.
4. Receive an Invitation to Apply: The British Columbia PNP released invitations to apply from the pool. Chosen applicants can then submit an application for provincial nomination.
5. Apply for Permanent Residence: Applicants who have gotten a provincial nomination can use it to support their application for PR with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Subject to fulfilling the federal eligibility criteria.
In order to become eligible under this stream, applicants must register via the British Columbia PNP Online Portal and pay a CAD 300 registration fee.
