How Can You Be Eligible For BC PNP Skill Stream?

For an individual to qualify for the BC PNP Skills Immigration stream, certain requirements must be met. One of these is receiving a valid full-time job offer from an eligible employer in British Columbia.

In this regard, the job being offered should belong to a BC PNP Occupations in Demand List. In addition, the job must fulfill the wage and employment requirements.

The other requirement involves having the skills necessary to carry out the duties of the job. This will entail having the appropriate work experience in a specific area. For certain occupational categories, applicants will need to possess the requisite educational credentials, ranging from certificates to diplomas.

Language proficiency in either English or French will be another requirement for program eligibility.

Some of the important eligibility criteria include:

  • An offer of employment from a BC-based company
  • Work experience related to the job offered
  • Educational credential, where applicable
  • Fluency in English or French
  • Intent to reside and work in British Columbia
  • Financial means to support themselves

Once all of these criteria are satisfied, the applicant is entered into the British Columbia PNP applicant pool and scored according to a points system. The high scorers among them are subsequently issued an application for provincial nomination.
