British Columbia continues to support entrepreneurs through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), creating new opportunities for international business leaders.

The BC PNP marks the 8th Entrepreneur Immigration round of 2026, highlighting the province’s efforts to invite skilled business professionals.

Through the BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration stream under the Base stream, the province has already invited 88 candidates. It indicates the province  is actively attracting experienced entrepreneurs to boost economic growth.

How Does the BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Process Work?

The BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration process consists of the following steps:

• Register Your Profile: Submit an online registration with all essential information including investment plans, proposed business and business experience.

• Receive a Registration Score: Your profile is assessed based on certain things including experience, business, job creation, investment and business concept.

• Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA): Top-rank applicants are attracted through frequent Entrepreneur Immigration draws.

• Submit a Complete Application: Invited applicants to submit a detailed business proposal and supporting documents for assessment.

• Sign a Performance Agreement: Approved candidates sign an agreement mentioning investment, business and job creation commitments.

• Establish the Business: Move to British Columbia, invest in, and actively manage the proposed business.

• Receive a Provincial Nomination: Applicants who fulfill the Performance Agreement get a BC provincial nomination.

• Apply for Canada PR: With the nomination, applicants can apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Canadian permanent residence.

In order to become eligible under this stream applicants must register via  the British Columbia PNP Online Portal and pay a CAD 300 registration fee.

Profiles are ranked  on certain factors such as proposed business economic impact, language proficiency and employment generation. Invited applicants have up to four months to submit a complete application along with a CAD 3,500 application fee.

Since invitations are issued to the highest-ranking candidates but meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
