British Columbia continues to attract global entrepreneurs through its business immigration programs. In the latest provincial draw, the province invited eligible business candidates under regional and base streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, reinforcing its commitment to economic growth and investment.
However, in 2026, British Columbia invited 27 candidates through the base stream and <10 through the regional stream. The draw targeted entrepreneurs who are prepared to establish or expand businesses in the province while contributing to local job creation and regional development.
Through these entrepreneur-focused pathways, British Columbia aims to welcome experienced business owners and investors who can strengthen the provincial economy and support community growth across various sectors.
The latest BC PNP draw further reflects the province’s strategic approach to welcoming high-potential entrepreneurs who can support long-term growth.
The following table provides an overview of the 2026 draws conducted under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, including invitation numbers and minimum score requirements for each stream.

Entrepreneurs who want to immigrate through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program must follow a structured selection process before receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The program assesses candidates based on their business experience, financial capacity, and the potential economic benefits their proposed business can bring to British Columbia.
First, applicants must register their profile in the BC PNP online system and submit details about their business background, personal net worth, and proposed investment plan. Each registration is evaluated through a points-based scoring system that considers factors such as business ownership or senior management experience, investment amount, job-creation potential, and adaptability.
Candidates with competitive scores are placed in a registration pool. During periodic draws, the province selects top-ranking candidates from this pool and issues Invitations to Apply for provincial nomination under the BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration streams.
After receiving an ITA, applicants must submit a complete application along with a detailed business plan. If approved, they sign a performance agreement with the province and receive a work permit to establish or purchase their business in British Columbia. Successful completion of the agreement can then lead to a provincial nomination and eventually permanent residence in Canada.
