Saskatchewan PNP invites 541 immigrants in the latest draw

The latest Saskatchewan PNP draw invites 541 immigrants who have applied for a provincial nomination through sub-categories: Express entry and Occupation In-demand for PR Visa.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) launched the new invitations on February 11, 2021.

344 immigrants were invited through the Express entry sub-category, and 197 through the Occupation in-demand sub-category.

Through SINP, the province of Saskatchewan can nominate immigrants for permanent residency who have the required skills for the local labor market.

The invited candidates had diploma evaluations and a minimum of 72 points under the SINP EOI point assessment grid. Points are awarded based on factors such as language proficiency, education, age, work experience, and connection to the province, among other major factors.

Applicants were invited if they had work experience in any of the 89 eligible occupations. Some eligible professions are Data scientists, Advertising and marketing managers, Corporate sales managers, Electrical and electronics engineers, among others.

Basics on SINP’s OID Stream

The In-Demand Professions subcategory is a Basic Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which means it is open to immigrant applicants who do not have a federal Express Entry profile.

SINP’s OID stream is for skilled workers who have work experience in an occupation that is in-demand in the province without a job-offer.

To apply for Canadian immigration in this subcategory, foreign nationals must create an EOI profile through the SINP online application system.

The EOI system allows the province to select immigrants who can easily adapt to the daily life in the province. All the applications for provincial nomination are assessed based on their work experience, age, language proficiency, education, and ties to the province.

SINP’s International Skilled Worker points assessment grid awards points out of 100 points.

The highest-rated applicants then receive an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

Basics on SINP’s Express Entry stream

SINP’s Express entry stream is an “enhanced” PNP stream, which means it is in-line with the federal government’s Express entry program.

Express Entry manages the applicant pool for three of Canada’s major economy class immigration programs: FSW, FST, and CEC.

Express Entry candidates must create an EOI profile with SINP to be considered for Saskatchewan provincial nomination.

600 CRS points are awarded to the Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination for SINP that effectively guarantees an ITA for Canada PR Visa.
