Application Deadline: September 30, 2026

Available Funds:

  • Full-Time Students: up to $5,000 per academic year
  • Part-Time Students: up to $500 per course, $2,500 max per academic year

Areas of Study:

  • Diplomas/degrees programs dealing directly with early childhood development
  • Accredited post-secondary schools
  • Classroom-based or online study programs are accepted

Eligibility Requirements

The Early Learning and the child care scholarship program eligibility requirements are included:

  • You must be a resident of the Northwest Territories
  • Enrollment in a diploma or degree program related to early childhood education
  • Registration at an approved post-secondary educational institution, either through the on-campus or online learning programs
  • Are enrolled in their first year of study
  • Must not have had an Early Learning and Child Care Scholarship before
  • From a small NWT community (any community other than Hay River, Fort Smith, Fort Simpson, Inuvik, Norman Wells, or Yellowknife).
  • Planning on returning to the NWT after graduation to pursue a career in early childhood development.
  • Part-time applicants currently working in licensed early learning and child care programs.

This scholarship is open to students registered at any accredited educational institution in Canada and abroad.
