BC PNP tech draw invites 80 immigrants

British Columbia PNP's latest round of invitations held on April 6 invites 80 immigrants for a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa.


All the invited candidates were from BC PNP's Skills Workers and International Graduate subcategories with the minimum points required to set at 80 points.


Through BC PNP Tech Pilot, immigrants who have work experience in targeted tech-related occupations are given a fast-track immigration pathway for provincial nomination


To be eligible they must have applied for provincial nomination through any one of BC PNP's immigration streams and have at least one-year job offer in one of the 29 eligible tech occupations.

This year, BC PNP has issued a total of 3,000 invitations to immigrants for provincial nomination through 19 rounds of invitations held till this date.


Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination are given a major boost of 600 CRS points to their profile guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next express entry draw for PR Visa.


So far this year, IRCC has issued 49,124 applicants, almost half of its target of new Express Entry applicants to be admitted in 2021. At the same time last year, IRCC had issued 22,600.


Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have set an ambitious goal of welcoming 401,000 new immigrants by 2021, with economic class immigrants arriving primarily through programs managed by the Express Entry system.
