Latest Ontario PNP draw targets 10 priority occupations for Express entry candidates

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) latest provincial draw held on June 23, invites 583 express entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa.

The invited applicants had profiles in the Express Entry system with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores between 464 and 467.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has invited applicants who may be eligible for the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream of Express Entry. OINP provides an immigration pathway to skilled immigrants who want better career growth opportunities in Ontario and have an intention to live in the province as a permanent resident.

In the latest round of invitations, Ontario has targeted express entry candidates who have work experience in one of the following targeted 10 occupations:

  • NOC Code 0122 - Banking, credit and other investment managers;
  • NOC Code 0124 - Advertising, marketing, and public relation managers;
  • NOC Code 0125 - Other business services managers;
  • NOC Code 0601 - Corporates sales managers;
  • NOC Code 1111 - Financial auditors and accountants;
  • NOC Code 1112 - Financial and investment analysts;
  • NOC Code 1121 - Human resources professionals;
  • NOC Code 1122 - Professional occupations in business management consulting;
  • NOC Code 3012 - Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses;
  • NOC Code 4163 - Business development officers and marketing researchers and consultants;

These targeted occupations were identical to previous Ontario HCP draws on February 2 and March 2.

Candidates invited to Express Entry must have at least one year of work experience in one of these professions to receive the provincial nomination. If appointed under this PNP or any other PNP related to Express Entry, they will be placed in the lead to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence.

During the pandemic, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held PNP-only draws, where applicants needed a PNP to be invited.

In 2020, Canada also held PNP-only draws as well as draws for all programs around the second half of the year, where all applicants were invited who had a score above the CRS cut-off.
