Latest Express Entry draw targets CEC candidates

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has conducted a new Express Entry draw targeting Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. This was the 29th invitation round conducted by the Canada Immigration Department in 2025, following a Provincial Nominee Program draw on August 6 and a category-based draw for healthcare and social services occupations held earlier on July 22.

Latest Express Entry Draw – August 7, 2025

The latest Express Entry draw was held on August 7, 2025, 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to eligible CEC candidates. The minimum CRS score required was 534.

If you receive an invitation in the latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR). If this deadline results, your invitation to apply (ITA) will no longer be valid.

So far in 2025, IRCC has issued a total of 50,628 Invitations under various Express Entry draw streams. Express Entry Draws have shown a strong focus on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, while other streams like CEC, French-language proficiency, healthcare, and education have also been prioritized through category-based selections.

Express Entry - Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class is a key stream within the Express Entry program. The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have at least one year of Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents.

Your skilled work experience must:

  • Work experience in NOC TEER categories 0, 1, 2, or 3
  • Be gained while legally working in Canada under temporary resident status
  • If you worked remotely, you must have been physically in Canada and working for a Canadian employer.
  • At least 1 year of work or 1,560 hours in the last three years

Candidates must have performed most of the main duties outlined in their National Occupational Classification (NOC) to be eligible.
