Latest Quebec Arrima Draw: 90 foreign skilled workers invited

Quebec invited 90 immigrant applicants to apply for permanent selection on May 27.

The Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI) invited applicants from the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) who had submitted an expression of interest (EOI) on the online registration portal from Quebec, Arrima.

In this latest round of invitation, two categories of candidates were invited:

  • Those who had a validated job offer; and
  • Those who are living in the province as a consular officer, diplomat, representative of any intergovernmental organization carrying out activities, and their staff;

The new draw is the fourth of the year organized by Quebec. The other draws took place on January 26, March 30, and April 29. A total of 476 applicants have now been invited to apply for permanent selection by the province in 2021.

Quebec has its different requirements and criteria for immigration programs that are different from the federal government's immigration programs. Ultimately, it's up to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to make the final decision on immigration applications.

Quebec Immigration Level Plans

Both the federal government and Quebec's provincial government are committed to increasing the immigration levels in the years to come. In 2021, Quebec has aimed to welcome 47,500 new immigrants to the province. Meanwhile, the federal government has targeted to welcome over 400,000 new immigrants through various major immigration programs over the coming years.
