Yukon Nominee Program Sets 282 Nomination Spots for 2026

The Government of Yukon officially released an update to its Nominee Program this year, outlining changes to how applications will be accepted and prioritized. The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) has been allocated 282 nomination slots for 2026.

However, the announcement confirms a revised intake structure focused on employer-led selection. This Provincial Nominee Program emphasizes addressing local labour shortages and supporting long-term settlement in the territory.

Furthermore, after the British Columbia and Saskatchewan nomination allocations, Yukon became the third Canadian jurisdiction to release nominations this year.

Yukon Nominee Program Intake and Priorities for 2026

Yukon has shared important details for candidates applying for Canadian immigration about how the Yukon Nominee Program will function in 2026.

This update highlights the program’s annual allocation, intake schedule, employer-led selection process and priority category. These will help you guide nominations in the upcoming year.

Key Intake and Selection Details

Yukon has received an allocation of 282 nominations for the 2026 Yukon Nominee Program.

  • Employers can submit an online Expression of Interest (EOI) during one of two intake periods:
    • January 19 to January 30
    • July 6 to July 17
  • Employers must provide basic information about the foreign national they wish to sponsor through the online form.
  • Submissions will be assessed using a points-based system based on Yukon’s priorities.
  • Employers who submitted an EOI in 2025 but were not invited will receive additional points.
  • Only the highest-scoring submissions from each intake period will be invited to submit a full application.

Yukon Nominee Program Priorities for 2026

Priority will be given to applications that support the Yukon immigration system, labour market needs and long-term settlement goals, including:

  • Regulated healthcare professionals
  • Employers located in rural Yukon
  • Foreign nationals who:
    • Have lived and worked in Yukon for at least one year
    • Are graduates of Yukon University
    • Are Francophone or French-speaking
    • Received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025

Special Provision for Temporary Measure Letter Holders

Applicants who received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025 are not required to submit an Expression of Interest.

This approach aligns with the Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2026–2028. It means they emphasize supporting candidates who already contribute to local labour markets and ensuring continuity for temporary residents.

Eligible applicants under this measure will be contacted directly by Yukon authorities with further instructions to complete their nomination applications.
