Canada continues its active immigration push with yet another Express Entry draw held within the same week. This latest round highlights the government’s ongoing effort to accelerate invitations and meet its ambitious immigration targets.
However, today's draw is the fifth under the French-language proficiency category, and the twenty-sixth Express Entry selection of 2026 overall. In this draw, the CRS score decreases by 19 points from the previous one. So far, Canada has invited 26,000 French speakers through the Express Entry draw.
Canada held a latest Express Entry draw on April 29, 2026, issuing 4,000 ITAs to French-Language proficiency candidates. The minimum CRS score was 400.
Type of Draw: French-Language proficiency
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Here is a concise overview of all French language proficiency Express Entry draws conducted in 2026, highlighting invitation trends and CRS score patterns.
| Date | Invitations issued | Minimum CRS Score |
| April 29, 2026 | 4,000 | 400 |
| April 15, 2026 | 4,000 | 419 |

| February 06, 2026 | 8,500 | 400 |
Below is a comprehensive breakdown of Express Entry draws in 2026, covering 26 draws and 71,627 invitations issued across all categories, highlighting how ITAs were distributed among draw types.
| Types of Draw | Number of ITAs | Number of Draw |
| Provincial Nominee Program | 3,736 | 9 |
| Canadian Experience Class | 34,250 | 8 |
| French-Language proficiency | 26,000 | 5 |

| Trades Occupations | 3,000 | 1 |
| Total | 71,627 | 26 |
Although the number of draws for the French language proficiency category has remained relatively limited in 2026, the size of these draws has been significantly larger. As a result, this category has emerged as one of the most prominent within the Express Entry system this year.
In fact, it has issued the second-highest number of Invitations to Apply among all programs and categories, surpassed only by the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
This trend clearly reflects Canada’s growing emphasis on attracting French-speaking skilled workers, particularly to support its bilingual workforce goals and regional labour market needs.
