The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has unveiled key details on its permanent residence priorities for 2026, following the release of the province’s nomination allocation. Alberta received a substantial nomination allocation from the federal government and has published how these spaces will be distributed across its immigration streams.
However, the Alberta PNP draw this year will continue to focus on key economic sectors and candidates with strong job offers. With transparent stream-by-stream allocations and priority occupations outlined, many skilled workers and province hopefuls are watching closely to assess their eligibility and opportunities.
Alberta will prioritize worker streams in health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, and rural communities through the Rural Renewal Stream.
| AAIP Stream | 2026 Nomination Allocation |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 3,425 |
| Rural Renewal Stream | 1,000 |
| Dedicated Health Care Pathways | 500 |
| Alberta Express Entry Stream | 1238 |
| Tourism & Hospitality Stream | 150 |
| Entrepreneur Streams | 90 |
| Total | 6,403 |
Nomination spaces will be issued through AAIP streams aligned with these priorities, reinforcing Alberta’s focus on addressing labour shortages and supporting regional growth for skilled workers and PNP applicants.
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) offers multiple immigration streams to nominate skilled workers and entrepreneurs for permanent residence in Alberta. These streams are divided into worker streams and entrepreneur streams, each aligned with Alberta’s labour market and economic priorities.
Each stream under the Alberta PNP Program has specific eligibility requirements, application steps, and selection criteria aligned with Alberta’s evolving economic and labour market needs.
