Alberta PNP draws of July 2025 show how the province has customized its selection process to appeal to professionals who fill its labour shortages. It also tells Express Entry candidates that there are viable pathways to PR even with scores well below the federal cut-off.
Here is why these July draws are exceptional:
Alberta’s July draws were sector-specific, which means that invites were given only for those occupations that Alberta needs at the moment, amongst those aforementioned categories.
This would include:
In any case, if representing any of the above sectors, now is a great time to check your eligibility for Canada PR under the Alberta PNP.
Many candidates invited this month had scores below 70, which are way lower than the federal Express Entry cutoffs. So, this makes it a very sensible choice for anyone who might not have very high CRS scores but with work experience in demand.
Should your occupation fall within Alberta's priority sectors and you have an active Express Entry profile, you probably are next in line. Prepare your documents, keep yourself up to date on future draws, and regularly check your profile for nomination notifications.
If your profile matches Alberta's current requirements, this is the right time to give further thought to this route to Apply for Canada PR.
