Canada once again released the latest Express Entry draw, which has brought renewed attention to the CEC candidates. This draw is the popular pathway for skilled workers who are seeking PR.
However, this is the 61st draw of the year. Through this latest Express Entry draw, IRCC has issued more than 1,38,000 ITAs across all Express Entry categories this year.
Moreover, receiving an ITA depends on factors such as a candidate’s CRS score, eligibility for the specific draw, and the applicable selection criteria.
Canada held the latest Express Entry draw on October 15, 2026, issuing 2,500 ITAs to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. The minimum CRS score was 519.
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Note: Invitations to apply to the Canadian Experience Class may be issued through this round of invitations.
IRCC issued a total of 6,752 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in October 2026 across three Express Entry draws, targeting Canadian Experience Class candidates, Provincial Nominee Program applicants, and trades professionals. The table below summarises the draw dates, invitation numbers, and minimum CRS scores.
| Draw Date | Round Type | Number of invitations issued | Minimum CRS Score |
| October 15, 2026 | Canadian Experience Class | 2,500 | 519 |
| October 13, 2026 | Provincial Nominee Program | 752 | 772 |
| October 1, 2026 | Trades Occupations | 3,500 | 476 |
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a popular immigration program under Canada's Express Entry system that allows eligible skilled workers with Canadian work experience to apply for Canada PR.
It is particularly suitable for temporary foreign workers and international graduates who have gained qualifying work experience in Canada and want to settle permanently.
To qualify for the CEC, applicants generally need at least one year of eligible skilled work experience in Canada within the three years before applying. This experience must be in a job classified under TEER categories 0, 1, 2, or 3 of Canada's NOC system.
Applicants must also meet the required language proficiency level, which varies by the TEER category of their work.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English or French through an approved language test. The minimum requirement is CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 occupations and CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 occupations.
There is no mandatory education requirement under the Canadian Experience Class. However, Canadian or foreign educational credentials may help applicants improve their CRS scores.
Eligible CEC candidates can enter the Express Entry pool and may receive an ITA based on their CRS ranking and the applicable draw criteria. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an invitation.
