Canada Issued 2,000 Invitations to Candidates Under CEC Category

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced its latest draw on September 29th, 2026. Today’s draw was the 17th draw under the CEC category.

However, in the latest Express Entry draw the CRS score decreased by 1 point, while the number of ITAs remained unchanged compared to the previous CEC draw.

So, as of now, Canada has invited 55,250 skilled candidates through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This demonstrates Canada's continuous efforts to attract qualified candidates who have valid Canadian work experience and can contribute to the economy and labour market.

Canada has conducted the latest Express Entry draw, inviting 2,000 applicants under the CEC category. The minimum CRS score was 519.

• Number of invitations issued: 2,000
• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 518
• Tie-breaking rule: February 13, 2026 at 20:48:08 UTC

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

Eligibility Requirements For Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

To become eligible for Permanent Residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in Express Entry, applicants are required to fulfill the language and work experience requirements.

1. Canadian Work Experience Requirements

• Duration & Hours: It is essential to have at least 1 year of continuous or combined professional experience in Canada (minimum 1,560 total hours, which is equivalent to 30 hours/ week for 12 months) within the 3 years prior to applying.

• Skill Levels: Applicants' skill level must fall within the NOC TEER 0,1,2 or 3 categories.

• Paid Employment: Work must be fully paid, while self-employment, unpaid internships, student work while studying, and volunteer work do not count.

• Role Duties: You must have done the lead statement and have performed most responsibilities specified in your NOC description.

• Flexible Structure: Multi-job hours, full-time or part-time, can be combined to satisfy the 1,560-hour threshold.

2. Language Proficiency Skills

Applicants are required to demonstrate English or French language proficiency using approved test results including TCF Canada, TEF, CELPIP or IELTS.

• TEER 0 or 1 Occupations: Applicants are required to have minimum CLB 7 under all key areas including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• TEER 2 or 3 Occupations: Minimum CLB 5 across all four skill areas.

Language test results remain valid for 2 years from the test date and must be valid at the time of your application submission.
