The latest Express Entry draw under the Canadian Experience Class has caught attention as the CRS cut-off score reached a new high. This increase reflects rising competition among candidates with Canadian work experience, making the selection process more competitive than before.
However, today's draw is the seventh under the CEC program, and the twenty-second Express Entry selection of 2026. It also marks the smallest CEC draw of the year, preceded by the March 31 draw, which issued 2,250 ITAs.
The draw continues to prioritize applicants who have already worked in Canada, as they are considered better aligned with the country’s labour market needs.
IRCC held a latest Express Entry draw on April 14, 2026, issuing 2,000 ITAs to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. The minimum CRS score was 515.
Type of Draw: Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Below is the complete summary of Express Entry CEC draws conducted in 2026 so far, with a total of 32,250 invitations issued.
| Draw Date | Invitations issued | Minimum CRS Score |
| April 14, 2026 | 2,000 | 515 |
| March 31, 2026 | 2,250 | 509 |
| March 17, 2026 | 4,000 | 507 |
| March 03, 2026 | 4,000 | 508 |
| February 17, 2026 | 6,000 | 508 |
| January 21, 2026 | 6,000 | 509 |
| January 07, 2026 | 8,000 | 511 |
A rising CRS cut-off in a Canadian Experience Class draw clearly indicates increasing competition among candidates already working in Canada. As more applicants gain skilled work experience and improve their profiles, the overall score required to receive an invitation also goes up.
For CEC candidates, this means that simply meeting the basic eligibility requirements is no longer enough. A stronger profile has become essential to stay competitive in the pool. Factors such as higher language test scores, additional work experience, and better educational qualifications can make a noticeable difference in CRS points.
It also highlights the importance of acting early. Candidates who delay improving their profiles may find it harder to match the rising cut-off in future draws. Exploring options such as retaking language tests (IELTS test) or earning additional credentials can help boost scores.
Overall, a higher CRS cut-off indicates that, while opportunities remain strong, only well-prepared candidates are more likely to secure an invitation quickly.
