Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its first Express Entry draw of the month. This draw was different, as it only invited candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
This draw also follows the two Express Entry draws conducted on May 30 and 31, 2024. They were unique as they were both program-specific draws. No program-specific draws have occurred since the introduction of category-based selection draws in May 2023.
The latest Express Entry draw held on June 19, 2024, saw invitations being issued to 1,499 candidates across a PNP-specific draw. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 663 to be eligible.
Type of draw: Provincial Nominee Program
Candidates who have been invited to this Express Entry draw will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency (PR) to the IRCC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
For candidates that did not get invited
Candidates who did not get invited in this latest Express Entry draw will remain active in the Express Entry pool for 12 months from the date of submission. They can expect to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.
Express Entry draws have had a very unusual pattern in 2024.
Express Entry draws are generally conducted every two weeks, typically on a Wednesday. The number of ITAs, minimum CRS score, and draw-type are determined by the IRCC. This varies depending on factors including, the Canadian economy, labour market, and the immigration targets set in the Canada Immigration Level Plans 2024-2026.
According to our experts, the next Express Entry draw is projected to be conducted on 20 June 2024.
