IRCC held its latest Express Entry draw on October 6th, 2025. This is the surprise draw for the French-speaking skilled candidates. This is the unexpected draw announced by the Federal government of Canada.
Moreover, this French-specific Express Entry draw is the 6th draw of the year. In recent years, IRCC has issued 30,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) specifically for the French language proficiency stream.
The Federal Government of Canada announced the latest Express Entry draw and issued 4500 skilled French-speaking candidates with a minimum CRS score of 432.
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
Recently, IRCC invited 4500 candidates for the French language proficiency stream through the Express Entry draw. This is the 41st draw of the year.

However, Canada invites 30,000 skilled francophone individuals who want to apply for Canada PR. The highest invitations were sent on March 21, 2025, with a minimum CRS score of 379. There is a 12-point reduction in the latest CRS score compared to the previous one, which was released on September 4, 2025.
This was the surprise given by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to the francophone candidates. They announced back-to-back rounds of French-speaking candidates in the previous months, which were August, September, and now October.
However, this draw is directly aligned with Canada immigration levels plan 2025–2027. In this plan, it is mentioned that they will invite approximately 29,325 French-speaking candidates who are going to reside in Canada.
The latest Express Entry draw was specifically for the francophone candidates. Invitations to apply to the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program may be issued through this round of invitations. French-speaking candidates continue to receive the largest share of category-based invitations, a trend that is expected to persist through 2025.
