Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has launched another Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Express Entry draw. This Express Entry draw marks the fourth draw of the year, and the second-largest CEC selection of 2026.
Within the first month of the year, IRCC has issued 14,000 ITAs to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates through two Express Entry draws, significantly impacting the composition of the Express Entry pool.
These CEC draws have also recorded some of the lowest CRS cut-off scores in recent months, with both the latest and previous draws showing the lowest thresholds since September 2024.
Canada released the latest Express Entry draw on January 21, 2026, inviting 6,000 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 509.
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
The following table summarizes Express Entry draws in 2026, including draw dates, draw types, the total number of ITAs issued, and the minimum CRS scores for each round. Through the Express Entry draw, Canada invited 15,255 candidates in 4 draws.
| Draw Date | Draw Type | Invitations issued | Minimum CRS Score |
| January 21, 2026 | Canadian Experience Class | 6,000 | 509 |
| January 20, 2026 | Provincial Nominee Program | 681 | 746 |
| January 7, 2026 | Canadian Experience Class | 8,000 | 511 |
| January 5, 2026 | Provincial Nominee Program | 574 | 711 |
To apply for permanent residence through Canada’s Express Entry system, you first check whether you meet the eligibility criteria for one of the federal programs. Then, create an Express Entry profile online through your IRCC secure account.
Eligible profiles are placed in the Express Entry pool and assigned a CRS score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability.
IRCC periodically conducts Express Entry draws, such as the recent Canadian Experience Class draw, where 6,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued, and those with CRS scores above the cut-off receive an ITA.
Once you receive an ITA, you have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence application online, upload all required documents and pay the applicable fees to apply for Canada PR.
After submission, IRCC reviews your application and, if approved, issues a Confirmation of Permanent Residence.
