Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another Express Entry Draw. This was marked as the 14th CEC draw of 2026, which took place on 18th August 2026. However, under the Express Entry draw, IRCC issued 1000 ITAs to candidates.
Additionally, the Express Entry system has reached a significant milestone with the most recent draw. Thus far in 2026, the IRCC has conducted 48th Express Entry draws and issued 114,865 ITAs to qualified workers. As a result, 2026 has the most Express Entry invites ever.
However, the latest draw demonstrates Canada’s continued dependence on Express Entry to select skilled workers who can meet the requirements of Canada’s labor market. The focus on CEC candidates also shows the importance of Canadian work experience within the country’s economic immigration strategy.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on August 18, 2026 and a total of 1000 ITAs were issued to candidates under the Canadian Express Class( CEC) stream. Invited applicants required a minimum CRS score of 523 to be eligible for an invitation.
Type of Draw: Canadian Experience Class
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
The below table demonstrates the total number of Express Entry draws held in 2026, along with their respective draw categories.
| Types of Express Entry Draw | Invitations issued |

Yes, CRS scores will rise or stay high during the rest of 2026, particularly in the most competitive Express Entry streams like CEC. However, as of August 2026, French draws and other category-based draws show the lowest scores.
Additionally, as of August 2026, the Express Entry pool demonstrates that there are still a lot of high-scoring applicants. For example, more than 73,000 candidates consistently have high CRS scores between 451 and 500.
Moreover, between 18,000 to 20,000 candidates remain in the 501–600 CRS score range. There are still more than 220,000 applicants in the Express Entry pool. This implies that there will probably be intense competition for CEC draws.
