Canada has announced another Express Entry draw. The most recent selection round was held on 31st August 2026. It represents IRCC’s 50th Express Entry draw of the year.
Additionally, in the recent PNP draw qualified candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence. This draw recorded the lowest PNP CRS cutoff of the year. The result brings encouraging news for PNP candidates.
However, IRCC has invited 7,961 PNP candidates so far in 2026. The figure demonstrates a rise of 23% as compared with the same period in 2025.
The rise highlights Canada's continued focus on provincial nominees. A provincial nomination can also provide a significant boost to a candidate’s CRS score.
IRCC held the Latest Express Entry PNP draw on 31st August, 2026, inviting 562 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 697.

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

Applicants who are eligible for an Express Entry-linked PNP may be considered for a PNP-specific draw. To become eligible, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria of the territory or province that nominated them and must have a valid Express Entry profile.
Candidates generally need to qualify for at least one of the federal Express Entry programs, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, or Federal Skilled Trades Program.

This can significantly boost their ranking and improve their chances of getting an Invitation to apply for permanent residence.
