Latest PEI PNP invites 155 immigration candidates for provincial nomination

Most of the invitations, 138, were sent to Express Entry and Labor Impact applicants. The remaining 17 invitations were sent to Business Impact candidates who had a minimum threshold of 80 points.

PNPs allow provinces and territories in Canada to select immigrant applicants who meet the needs of their labor market. This is the case of Prince Edward Island, which administers the Prince Edward Island PNP under guidelines approved by the federal government.

Due to the travel restrictions, Prince Edward Island like anywhere else in the country has seen reduced immigration rates. However, the federal government plans to close the deficit and achieve an ambitious immigration target in 2021. Canada is targeting to admit 80,800 new immigrants in 2021 through PNPs.

To be considered for a PEI Provincial nomination, Express Entry candidates must create an EOI profile with the PEI PNP.

EOI profiles are awarded points based on the province's unique points grid. Profiles with the highest score are then invited to submit applications for provincial nomination through frequently held monthly draws.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination get an extra 600 CRS points, which effectively guarantees an ITA to apply for Canada PR Visa to Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
