Newfoundland and Labrador Adds 1,000 New Immigration Spaces for Applicants

Newfoundland and Labrador’s NLPNP has secured 1,000 additional provincial nomination spaces for 2026. The NLPNP quota has been increased to 2,379 by the Canadian federal government.

The increased allocation will help address the province to attract qualified professionals as per the demographic requirements. Additionally, the province now has 2,854 spaces in both the NLPNP and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

As per the latest draw held on September, Newfoundland and Labrador PNP invited:

• 2,198 candidates through the NLPNP
• 394 candidates through the AIP

It demonstrates the continuous efforts of the province to attract and recruit qualified workers.

Provincial Immigration Draws and Canada PR Processing Timeline

Applicants who wish to seek provincial immigration generally required to satisfy the requirements of a relevant pathway.

• Firstly, satisfy the eligibility requirements of the provincial immigration pathway.
• Then create an online Expression of interest ( EOI) profile and enter into the candidate pool, if required.
• Get an invitation to apply from the province through a future draw.
• Need to submit a complete and accurate endorsement or nomination application within the given deadline of 60 calendar days.
• Get a provincial nomination or endorsement before starting with the PR application.

How the Enhanced NLPNP Allocation Benefits Foreign Immigrants

The increased allocation allows foreign nationals with more opportunities to pursue their Canada PR through Newfoundland and Labrador PNP pathways. It is especially relevant to those who are satisfying the province labour market requirements.
