Newfoundland and Labrador has conducted a new immigration draw, creating fresh opportunities for candidates seeking Canada PR. The latest round of invitations targets skilled workers and eligible applicants under provincial pathways, reflecting the province’s ongoing demand for talent.
This is the second draw of the year. However, in the previous Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program draw, the province invited 445 skilled candidates. It includes 362 applicants under the NLPNP stream and 83 under the AIP stream. In total, Newfoundland and Labrador invites 690 skilled candidates for Canada PR.
With changing CRS trends and selection criteria, this draw could be a key chance for many candidates to move closer to permanent residency.
The latest Newfoundland and Labrador draw held on March 30, 2026, issued 245 invitations, including 209 under NLPNP and 36 through the Atlantic Immigration Program.
A quick overview of Newfoundland and Labrador’s latest draws highlights invitation trends and program-wise selections across 2026 and recent rounds:
| Date | Total ITAs | NLPNP | AIP |
| March 30, 2026 | 245 | 209 | 36 |
| March 06, 2025 | 445 | 362 | 83 |
To qualify for immigration to Newfoundland and Labrador PNP, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria under the NLPNP and Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). While requirements vary by stream, the core eligibility factors include:
1. Job offer from an Eligible Employer: Most streams require a valid, full-time job offer from a designated employer in Newfoundland and Labrador. The role must match your skills and experience.
2. Relevant Work Experience: Applicants must have prior work experience related to the job offered. The experience should meet the required skill level based on the stream.
3. Educational Qualifications: You must have completed post-secondary education or training. In some cases, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) may be required.
4. Language Proficiency: Proof of English or French proficiency is mandatory, typically through tests such as IELTS exam or CELPIP and by meeting minimum CLB levels.
5. Proof of Funds: Candidates may need to show sufficient funds to support themselves and their family, unless already working in Canada.
6. Intent to Reside in the Province: You must demonstrate a genuine intention to live and work in Newfoundland and Labrador.
7. Additional Stream-Specific Criteria: Some streams may require employer endorsement, settlement plans, or specific occupation demands.
Meeting these requirements is essential to improve your chances of receiving an invitation in future draws.
