Newfoundland and Labrador Invited More Than 400 Skilled Candidates For Canada PR

Newfoundland and Labrador released another draw for applicants who are seeking to apply for Canada PR. Newfoundland and Labrador continues to strengthen its immigration efforts through the regular invitation rounds.

This latest Newfoundland and Labrador PNP (NLPNP) draw focuses on the labour market needs and fulfils economic growth while attracting skilled workers.

However, this is the 9th draw of the year, and more than 1900 skilled candidates have been invited. Including more than 1600 under the NLPNP and over 300 under the AIP.

What are the Eligibility Requirements for Skilled Workers?

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) skilled worker category is designed for skilled foreign workers and individuals. With the help of a valid job offer from an eligible employer in Newfoundland and Labrador.

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate that they have the skills, qualifications, and financial ability to establish themselves successfully in the province while meeting all provincial immigration requirements.

To be eligible under this stream, applicants must:

  • Hold a full-time job or valid job offer from an eligible Newfoundland and Labrador employer.
  • Work in a TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 occupation that meets provincial employment standards and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Have the education, training, work experience, licences, or certifications required for the position under the applicable NOC code.
  • Be between 21 and 59 years of age at the time of application.
  • Maintain valid immigration status if already living in Canada, with at least four months remaining on the current work permit.
  • Demonstrate the intention to live and work permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador PNP.
  • Show sufficient settlement funds to support themselves and any accompanying family members after arrival.
  • If applying without a valid work permit, ensure the employer has a valid Job Vacancy Assessment (JVA) where required.

Applicants are not eligible if they hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), have knowingly misrepresented information, have unresolved legal or child support disputes, possess a serious criminal record, or are refugee claimants currently awaiting a decision in Canada.
