A new opportunity has just opened for skilled immigrants as Newfoundland and Labrador continues to address its growing labour shortages through targeted immigration draws. This latest update has caught the attention of candidates worldwide, especially those seeking faster, more accessible pathways to permanent residency in Canada.
However, this is the 4th NLPNP draw of the year and has invited over 1,000 candidates seeking to apply for Canada PR.
With increasing demand across healthcare, trades, and other essential sectors, the province is actively inviting qualified professionals who can contribute to its workforce and economy.
The latest Newfoundland and Labrador PNP draw held on May 01, 2026, issued 190 invitations, including 157 under NLPNP and 33 through the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Here is a quick overview of the 2026 draws conducted by Newfoundland and Labrador, highlighting total invitations issued under AIP and NLPNP programs:
| Draw Date | Total ITAs | AIP | NLPNP |
| May 01, 2026 | 190 | 33 | 157 |
| April 13, 2026 | 210 | 33 | 177 |
| March 30, 2026 | 245 | 36 | 209 |
| March 6, 2026 | 445 | 83 | 362 |
| Total | 1090 | 185 | 905 |
To be considered under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program or the Atlantic Immigration Program, candidates must first meet the basic eligibility criteria, such as relevant work experience, educational qualifications, and language proficiency.
A key requirement for both pathways is securing a valid job offer from a designated employer in Newfoundland and Labrador, as these programs are employer-driven.
For NLPNP, you may also need to create a profile in the Expression of Interest system and receive an invitation from the province. For AIP, your employer must be designated and provide an endorsement for your application.
Once selected, you can apply for permanent residence in Canada. Meeting labour market needs and aligning your profile with in-demand occupations in NLPNP can significantly improve your chances of selection.
