Newfoundland and Labrador has issued its third Invitation to Apply (ITA) in May 2026. The latest round of invitations reflects the province's continued efforts to attract skilled workers and address labour market needs across key sectors.
Through its immigration programs, Newfoundland and Labrador aims to support economic growth while helping employers fill critical job vacancies. For prospective immigrants seeking a pathway to Canada permanent residence, provincial nominations can significantly improve their chances of success.
The latest Newfoundland and Labrador PNP draw held on May 28, 2026, issued 103 invitations, including 84 under NLPNP and 19 through the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Newfoundland and Labrador issued 479 ITAs through the NLPNP and AIP in May 2026. The province held three draws, inviting skilled workers and qualified candidates to support labour market needs. Below is a summary of the draws conducted in May 2026.
| Date | Total ITAs | NLPNP | AIP |
| May 28, 2026 | 103 | 84 | 19 |
| May 11, 2026 | 186 | 168 | 18 |

Newfoundland and Labrador continues to use its Expression of Interest (EOI) system to select candidates who best align with the province’s economic and labour market needs.
Under the current prioritization criteria, preference may be given to candidates working in high-demand sectors such as healthcare, skilled trades, science, research, business, finance, technology, and rural community occupations.
The province also considers factors such as employer demand, long-term settlement potential, community connections, and support for Francophone immigration. Candidates with experience in Newfoundland and Labrador PNP in-demand occupation may have a stronger chance of receiving an invitation, particularly where labour shortages are most acute.
Graduates from Newfoundland and Labrador institutions and individuals with strong ties to the province may also receive additional consideration.
Through this targeted approach, the province aims to address workforce gaps, strengthen regional communities, support population growth, and attract skilled newcomers who can contribute to long-term economic development and retention.
