Newfoundland and Labrador Issues 405 Invitations in Latest Draw

Newfoundland and Labrador has conducted its third immigration draw of 2025, inviting 405 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residency under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

The draw, held on May 29, 2025, reflects the province’s continued commitment to addressing local labour market demands. Of the total invitations, 405 were issued through the NLPNP, while 54 were allocated under AIP.

Focus Areas of the May 29 Draw

This latest draw targeted foreign nationals with full-time job offers in in-demand occupations, giving priority to individuals already residing in the province or those with employment offers in rural and remote communities. The aim is to support the province’s long-term demographic and economic growth.

About the NLPNP

Newfoundland and Labrador PNP facilitates two economic immigration programs. These programs to help skilled workers, international graduates and entrepreneurs settle permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador with their families and Apply for Canada permanent residence. These programs also assist Newfoundland and Labrador employers with addressing labour market needs.

Enhanced Expression of Interest (EOI) System

Launched on February 19, 2025, the province’s revamped Expression of Interest (EOI) system is now a mandatory first step for all prospective applicants under both the NLPNP and AIP. Key features include:

  • EOIs must be submitted via the Immigration Accelerator platform.
  • Applicants outside Canada must have an invite code from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer.
  • Those inside Canada on valid temporary status do not require an invite code.
  • EOIs remain valid for 12 months.
  • Selected candidates have 60 days to submit a full application.
  • An ITA does not guarantee nomination—applicants must meet all eligibility criteria.
