Quebec Skilled Worker Selection Through PSTQ and Arrima

The Programme de sélection des travailleurs qualifiés (PSTQ) is Quebec’s skilled worker selection program and operates differently from the federal Express Entry system.

Applicants interested in Quebec’s skilled immigration pathway need to create an online profile through Arrima, where their profile is assessed and ranked on certain criteria, including:

  • Education and training
  • Training and Qualifications
  • French and/or English language proficiency
  • Relevant professional experience
  • Connection to Quebec, including residence, employment or family ties

As per the profiles submitted, Quebec might invite chosen applicants to apply for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ), which is a crucial step toward applying for Canada PR.

For applicants planning to participate in future PSTQ selections, particularly Stream 2. It is essential to make sure that their profile continues to fulfill the applicable eligibility criteria.

This consists of having:

  • A profession within the eligible TEER 3,4 or 5 categories
  • Maintaining the required level of French oral proficiency
  • Keeping work experience and residency information updated in Arrima.

Applicants can also use the Quebec Points Calculator to review their profile. Then understand how certain factors might affect their overall score and future selections.
