Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has released the details of their round of invitations held on April 15. A total of 156 invitations were issued to candidates to apply for Canada PR Visa.
140 invitations were issued to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining 16 invitations were issued to Business Impact candidates with the minimum score required to set at 75 points.
Through PNPs, provinces and territories can nominate skilled immigrants to live as permanent residents if they can meet the requirements of the local labor market. This is the case with Prince Edward Island, which administers its own Provincial Nominee Program under guidelines approved by the federal government. PNPs have immigration streams that are in line with the federal governments Express entry program.

Immigration to Prince Edward Island, like elsewhere in the country, has declined over the past year, largely due to travel restrictions. But, the federal government of Canada has decided to close this deficit and achieve its immigration target for this year. Under PNPs, Canada's goal is to admit 80,800 new immigrants this year. The Express Entry category of the Prince Edward Island PNP is an enhanced PNP, meaning it is linked to the federal government's Express Entry system.
Candidates who have applied for a PR Visa through the Express entry program get 600 CRS points if they are nominated for provincial nomination. These many points guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to submit their application for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
To be considered for a PEI Provincial nomination, Express Entry candidates must create an EOI profile with the PEI PNP.
EOI profiles of the immigrants are awarded points based on the PEI PNP point assessment grid. Profiles with the highest score are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through frequently held provincial draws.
