IRCC has announced a new targeted Express Entry draw aimed specifically at healthcare and social services professionals, highlighting Canada’s continued focus on strengthening its essential workforce.
This occupation-focused approach is designed to attract skilled individuals whose expertise supports critical public needs, from frontline medical care to community and social support services. By prioritizing applicants in these fields, IRCC is aligning immigration selections with national labour market priorities and ensuring a steady pipeline of qualified talent.
The initiative also offers a clearer pathway to apply for permanent residency for professionals whose skills contribute directly to the well-being and resilience of communities across the country.
IRCC released its latest Express Entry draw on November 14, 2025, inviting 3,500 skilled candidates with a minimum CRS score of 462 for Healthcare and social services occupations.
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

This draw shows that Canada urgently needs skilled workers like nurses, social workers, medical technicians, caregivers, and other support professionals. These roles are important for hospitals, clinics, community programs, and long-term care centres, which are currently facing staff shortages.
For candidates, this Express Entry draw is a positive sign because it shows that Canada is continuing to prioritize essential occupations.
If you work in healthcare or social services and have strong experience, education, language scores, and other CRS factors, your chances of receiving an ITA in upcoming draws are higher. Keeping your profile updated and improving your CRS score can further increase your opportunities.
