By reviewing this information, candidates will gain insight into how PEI selects candidates for nomination; it will also show them the type of draw from which they were selected and the frequency of draws across these categories and pathways to immigration to PEI.
The PNP selection process in Prince Edward Island determines candidates who could help meet current job vacancies and build the Province’s economic base for long-term growth. The majority of successful candidates may have received preference if they hold a valid job offer from a PEI employer, currently work in the province, or graduated from an accredited local institution such as UPEI, Holland College, or Collège de l’île.
Priority occupations for the PNP draw typically reflect shortages in major industries in PEI, including health care, skilled trades, manufacturing, food processing, hospitality, and other essential sectors.
In addition to occupation, applicants must meet other criteria, including language proficiency, education level, relevant work experience, adaptability, and a demonstrated intent to reside and work in PEI PNP. Ensuring the profile is fully completed, entered accurately, and kept up to date will increase the likelihood of success when selecting candidates.
