Alberta has taken a strong step toward meeting its labour market needs with a series of Provincial Nominee Program draws conducted throughout February 2026.
However, in January 2026, the Alberta PNP held only 3 draws and invited 254 skilled candidates who live and settle in Canada and wish to obtain permanent residence.
Through these targeted selections, the province invited skilled candidates across various occupations, creating fresh opportunities to apply for Canada PR. The draws reflect Alberta’s focus on attracting talent with diverse skills while keeping score requirements accessible.
The latest Alberta PNP draw held 9 draws in February 2026, issuing 2,273 invitations to skilled professionals seeking Canadian permanent residency and long-term career opportunities.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is Alberta’s provincial immigration pathway that helps skilled workers and entrepreneurs to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents by meeting the province’s economic and labour market needs.
The program nominates individuals with the skills, work experience, or business plans that align with Alberta’s priorities, allowing them to apply for permanent residence once nominated.
The program is managed by the Government of Alberta in partnership with the Government of Canada.
AAIP includes four main streams for workers who are already living or planning to live in Alberta:
In addition to worker streams, AAIP offers four entrepreneur streams for those looking to start, buy or operate a business in Alberta, including rural and foreign graduate entrepreneur options.
Together, these AAIP streams provide flexible and targeted routes for eligible candidates to secure provincial nomination and progress toward permanent residence in Canada.
