Alberta Invites Over 900 Skilled Candidates in April Month

Alberta continues to attract skilled immigrants through the targeted provincial immigration draws, creating new opportunities for candidates seeking Canada PR.

With increasing demand for workers across key industries, the province is actively selecting eligible candidates to support its growing economy and labour market needs. However, so far in 2026, the Alberta PNP draw has invited 5,254 skilled candidates, including 973 in April, 1,724 in March, 2,303 in February, and only 254 in January.

Alberta Introduces New AAIP Fee Structure Effective April 2026

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has introduced an updated fee schedule effective on April 7, 2026. It brings important changes for candidates planning to apply for provincial immigration pathways.

One of the key updates is the introduction of a new $135 fee for submitting a Worker Expression of Interest (WEOI). This fee now applies to candidates interested in worker-based immigration streams under the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program.

Apart from the newly added WEOI fee, application charges for major immigration streams such as the Alberta Opportunity Stream, Alberta Express Entry Stream, Rural Renewal Stream, and Tourism and Hospitality Stream remain set at $1,500. Entrepreneur-focused streams, including the Graduate Entrepreneur and Farm Stream categories, continue to carry higher application fees.
