Alberta has conducted another immigration draw under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), issuing invitations to eligible candidates seeking permanent residence in Canada.
The latest draw highlights the province's continued commitment to attracting skilled workers to help address labour market needs and support economic growth across sectors.
However, in 2026, Alberta invited 7806 skilled candidates for Canada PR through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). Through targeted selection rounds, Alberta identifies candidates with the skills, experience, and qualifications needed to contribute to the province's workforce and communities.
Alberta issued a total of 2,552 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) across 10 draws in May 2026, targeting candidates through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, Rural Renewal Stream, Accelerated Tech Pathway, Dedicated Health Care Pathway, and other priority sector pathways.
The complete draw details are provided in the table below.

To qualify for the streams under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), candidates must have a valid job offer from an eligible Alberta employer. The job offer must generally be for continuous, paid, full-time work in an occupation that meets AAIP requirements.
In most cases, the position must be located in Alberta and align with the applicant's skills, education, and work experience.
Employers supporting AAIP applicants must be legally established and actively operating in Alberta. They must comply with provincial employment standards, workplace safety regulations, and all applicable labour laws.
The employer should also demonstrate a genuine need to hire the candidate and provide working conditions that meet industry standards.
Certain occupations may not be eligible for specific AAIP streams, and additional requirements may apply depending on the selected pathway. Applicants should carefully review the criteria for their chosen stream and the Alberta high-demand occupation before submitting an application.
Meeting both the job offer and employer requirements is essential, as it helps ensure that newcomers can successfully integrate into Alberta's labour market and contribute to the province's long-term economic growth.
