Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invites 200 Express entry candidates in the latest provincial draw to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa.
Invited applicants must have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 301. The scoring threshold decreased by one point from the previous draw.
Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination, automatically get 600 CRS points to their express entry profile. Once that happens, they are well on their way to being invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
The Alberta Express Entry stream is an enhanced PNP immigration stream, which means it is in line with the Express Entry pool of the federal government. The first step to being eligible for this program is to create a profile in the Express Entry system.

Alberta Express entry stream allows the express entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination if they have strong ties to the province or who can support the provincial government's diversification process and economic development. Alberta is only considering applicants living in the province because of the coronavirus.Candidates are required to have work experience in an eligible profession. AINP does not provide the list of eligible occupations; instead, they publish a list of ineligible occupations for the stream.
Alberta was given to authority to issue 6,250 provincial nomination certificates in the year 2020. But because of the pandemic, these nominations have been reduced to 4,000 nominations. Alberta issued all of these nominations in June 2020 that's the reason there were no provincial draws for the second half of the year.
Because of the high volume of applications under Alberta's Express entry stream under certain occupations, application processing takes a much longer time. Following is the list of these occupations with their respective National Occupation Classification (NOC) Code:
