Latest Alberta PNP Draw: Invited 200 Express Entry Applicants

The province of Alberta has invited 6,359 Express Entry applicants to apply for a provincial nomination. On November 9, Alberta asked 200 Express Entry applicants to file for a provincial nomination. In addition, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited individuals with Express Entry scores of at least 343.

After the resumption of fresh invitation rounds in Jan, 2021, Alberta has invited 6,359 Express Entry Applicants to apply for a provincial nomination. However, this pace took a pause in the latter months of 2020. The most recent draw is the first of many with a cut-off score greater than 300, which is required to be qualified for the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

The province asks candidates in the Express Entry pool of Alberta to apply for a Certificate of Nomination through periodical drawings, the receipt of which will considerably enhance their application for permanent residency. Alberta has, for the time being, a quota of 6250 nomination certificates to be issued this year. The province may have concluded sending invitations for the current year since the number of invitations issued has now exceeded the number of certificates of nomination that can be provided.

The Alberta Express Entry stream is a by-product of the PNP (Provincial Nominee Programs), wherein it allows the provincial governments to search the federal government's Express Entry pool for profiles of persons who could be qualified for a provincial nomination.

Express Entry is the most prime immigration pathway to enter Canada wherein it manages all the three Federal High Skilled programs, namely CEC (Canadian Experience Class), FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program), and FSTP (Federal Skilled Trades Program). If your profile matches the requirements for Express Entry, you'll be assigned a score based on the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). This system decided a score based on several factors such as age, education, work experience, English or French language skills, and other things. IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) organize Express Entry draws on a monthly basis, asking the top-scoring individuals to apply for permanent residence.

Here, you can migrate to Canada with a provincial nomination through the Express Entry system. However, it is important to note here, that individuals with low CRS scores may also for a PNP. It gives them an additional 600 CRS point boost for their profile which means the newly nominated candidates with the lowest score will now have 900 CRS scores, which is enough to be invited for the next Express Entry draw.

In order to be eligible for a provincial nomination under the Alberta Express Entry stream, you should have the relevant occupation. The AINP does not give a list of eligible jobs but instead, it provides a list of occupations that are not suitable for the stream. Many people who apply for jobs in this field, work as food service managers, transport truck drivers, and cooks, among other things.

Certain qualities, such as work experience, a Canadian education, or a job offer in Alberta, boost your chances of getting nominated. It is also advantageous to have a family member, such as a parent, kid, or sibling, who is already residing in Alberta.
